Social Media and Coffee — A Match Made in Heaven!

I’m intrigued by the new iPhone app Coffee Buzz. Per the company’s Web site, the app:

  • Finds great places for coffee nearby using your iPhone’s location awareness
  • Shows recent Coffee Buzz drinkers & activity both nearby and everywhere
  • Lets you share your favorite coffee hangouts with others around you
  • Tweets your coffee drinking activity to your Twitter account
  • Can automatically update your Twitter location

Maybe a little TOO coffee focused, but I like the fact that I think this can quickly evolve into a tool that facilitates meet-ups, helps you find a place to have coffee (yes, there are dozens of ways to find a Starbucks, but it’s nice to find the locals as well) and can turn you on to a new place for joe.

On the downside, how many social networks can anyone belong to? However, with the ties to Twitter, I think this looks interesting.

Give it a try… and call me for coffee!
